Connecting Early Career Professionals in Ecological Restoration

YOUNG#ER is a network aiming to connect ecological restoration students and early-career professionals across Europe, empowering them to participate in restoration efforts, whilst sharing their experience and knowledge in an informal and supportive environment.

ACTIVITIES

Opportunities Board: a regularly updated list of jobs, research opportunities and other relevant resources for students and young professionals in ecological restoration.

Tips and recommendations – practial advice for those looking to enter and grow within the ecological restoration sector.

SERE Conference Sessions and Workshops – YOUNG#ER was launched during the SERE 2021 conference (watch recording). Since then we have actively participated in all major SERE conferences organising sessions, workshops, fieldtrips and roundtables (see example).

YOUNG#ER meetings – YOUNG#ER members meet occasionally to share opportunities, discuss their career interests and concerns, debate ecological restoration topics or showcase their work and receive feedback.

Education and Training Working Group (ETWG). YOUNG#ER engages with SER-Europe’s broader efforts to shape education and training in ecological restoration through its participation in the ETWG. Find out more: www.ser-europe.org/etwg.
