The call for oral and poster presentations is now open for the 15th European Conference on Ecological Restoration (SERE2026), taking place in Brest, France from 24-28 August 2026. Researchers, practitioners, and policymakers are invited to share their work and contribute to advancing ecological restoration across Europe and beyond.

This year’s conference will bring together a diverse community to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and explore solutions to today’s most pressing restoration challenges, from biodiversity loss and climate change to large-scale ecosystem recovery and implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation.

Submission Timeline

Oral and poster presentations can be submitted in two phases:

  • Early submissions: 16 March – 15 April
  • Late Submissions: 16 April – 31 May

Early submissions will be reviewed first, with decisions communicated in May. Late submissions will be reviewed after the deadline, with outcomes shared in June.

Conference registration opens on 1 April 2026. Please note that acceptance of proposals is contingent upon registration for the conference.

Types of Contributions

Participants may submit abstracts for oral presentations (typically 12 minutes in length), and poster presentations (A0) format).

Abstracts of a maximum 250 words should clearly outline the topic, objectives, and key messages of the proposed contribution. Authors may select up to three relevant topics or sessions.

Special Sessions Open to Submissions

A wide range of special sessions are open for contributions, reflecting the breadth of restoration science and practice across Europe. Topics include:

  • Implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and National Restoration Plans
  • National restoration hubs and networks
  • Seascape and marine restoration
  • Wetland, river, and lake restoration
  • Rewilding and assisted natural regeneration
