SUMMARY:Peatland Restoration: Expert Review of the Best Practice Guidelines (ALFAwetlands)
DESCRIPTION:Join SER-Europe for an expert review webinar on the draft Best Practice Guidelines for Peatland Restoration\, an output of the ALFAwetlands project and part of the Nature Restoration Guidelines series by Research Institute for Nature and Forest. \nThis session brings together practitioners\, land managers\, decision-makers\, and investors to review the draft guidelines and the accompanying Peatland Restoration Best Practice Guideline Tool. Together we will assess whether the guidance is technically accurate and useful\, and whether it is user-friendly and effective for education and training. \nThe webinar will include an introduction to the ALFAwetlands project\, and a presentation of the Guideline Tool\, and two facilitated discussion groups examining the technical content and the educational value of the guidance\, closing with recommendations to strengthen it. \nYour expertise will directly shape the final guidelines. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them. \n Register\n\nSpeaker: Maud Raman \nSenior Scientist·Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) \n\nMaud Raman is a researcher with the Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO)\, working in the Environment & Climate team. Her work focuses on ecosystem restoration\, ecosystem functioning in relation to environmental pressures and climate change\, and climate adaptation. Maud has extensive experience in project development and management\, ecological sampling and modelling using R. She is also interested in the interface between science and policy\, with a particular focus on developing effective strategies and communication tools to support the uptake of scientific knowledge.
