SUMMARY:Ocean Best Practices Workshop VIII - Best Practices for Successful Collaboration
DESCRIPTION:The eighth Ocean Best Practices System Workshop (OBPS WSVIII) focuses on promoting best practices in operational oceanography\, vital for interoperable ocean data and sustainable solutions. It includes plenaries on ocean knowledge\, policy\, and future perspectives\, with workshop sessions addressing marine conservation\, forecasting\, and sustainable Blue Economy. \n \nThis session will explore 10 years of best practices in ocean research\, diplomacy\, and sustainable management. Discover outcomes from the 2024 All-Atlantic Forum\, and gain insights into trans-Atlantic cooperation\, partnerships\, and how to actively contribute to ocean challenges and innovations. SER-Europe’s MRPO will be there to raise the importance of collaborative work in the marine space – and introduce the Marine Restoration Working Group as part of a panel discussion. \nFind out more\, and how to join\, here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_66Ox0-XFSbqbybgLEwHtOA#/registration

SUMMARY:Ocean Best Practices Workshop VIII - Striking Gold
DESCRIPTION:The eighth Ocean Best Practices System Workshop (OBPS WSVIII) focuses on promoting best practices in operational oceanography\, vital for interoperable ocean data and sustainable solutions. It includes plenaries on ocean knowledge\, policy\, and future perspectives\, with workshop sessions addressing marine conservation\, forecasting\, and sustainable Blue Economy. \nThe EU Mission Ocean seeks to protect and restore marine ecosystems by 2030\, fostering sustainability and resilience. This session focuses on governance and management of restoration projects in the Atlantic and Arctic\, highlighting best practices from projects like REST-COAST and CLIMAREST – both projects with which SER-Europe works closely to achieve their ambitious goals. Through case studies\, it emphasizes the transferability\, scalability\, and replicability of successful marine conservation efforts\, particularly in stakeholder engagement\, adaptive management\, and innovative technologies. Participants will gain practical insights into implementing these methods across different environments and scales\, with discussions on local contexts and challenges. The session supports standardizing practices for sustainable ocean management and resilient marine ecosystems. \nOur Marine Restoration Project Officer will present the Principles for Ecosystem Restoration developed as a contribution to the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration\, and which SER was a contributing partner. \nJoin us to find out more: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_sJBdUmMDTCmhCpHADRPv3A#/registration Blue
